JAVA AFTER DARK | NO ON QUESTION 8 @ BWG – 8PM

October 15 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What does Question 8 actually do?
And most importantly, what could it mean for our community?

Massachusetts voters legalized recreational marijuana ten years ago. Now Question 8 asks voters whether the state should end legal recreational marijuana sales. But this conversation is bigger than weed.

At this next in-person Java After Dark at Newdia, we’re looking at Question 8 through the lens of Black and other marginalized communities. What happens to BIPOC-owned cannabis businesses? What happens to jobs, tax dollars, and opportunities to build wealth? And after generations of Black and Brown men and women being arrested and jailed over marijuana, could ending the legal market take us backwards?

We’ll bring some industry voices together for a real conversation about public health, public safety, regulation, equity, and economics.
Register (REQUIRED) and come through for some information, networking, and a chance to win a $100 Java Gift Pack from New Dia, our host!
